Why Pilates?
A pioneering exercise physiologist, Joseph Pilates first developed his rehabilitative exercise techniques while working with injured war veterans and professional dancers whose injuries were not successfully treated by other methods. With the importance of core strength and the understanding of how it supports all body movement, he designed and patented his own exercise equipment including the Pilates Reformer, Tower, and Stability Chair. This equipment is generally not available in most Physical Therapy clinics, but it provides a wonderful and effective adjunct to other more traditional methods.
